Sponsored Athlete - Sara Champion
I come from an athletic background. Starting at the age of 9, I was in basketball and fastpitch softball. When I was in high school, I was recruited by the varsity football coach to be on the track and field team to be a jumper. After high school I was recruited to my university for Track & Field for jumps/short sprints and became a captain my senior year. When I graduated, I wanted to stay active but had a hard time understanding a life without a sport. I started lifting with my now husband and the rest is history. I can push myself and challenge the ways I train daily!
What inspires you?
- Right now, the idea that second place is not an option. Losing is not in my vocabulary. I have trained harder in the past 2 years than I ever have, for a stage I have yet to step on. My time has come, and I am ready to showcase what I have built.
- In general, my dad. Easy. I love him more than anything in this life and not a day goes by that his entrepreneurial methodology, kind heart, and positive mindset, have not influenced me in some way. I am me because I chose to be like him, hands down the best decision I could have made for myself and my future
Favorite body part to train:
LOVE upper body days. I am so leg dominant that getting uncomfortable pushing ‘lighter’ weight for shoulders and arms that I have been able to completely change my physique.
Best advice to give someone on their fitness journey?
Don’t take criticism from someone you wouldn’t take advice from – there are going to be so many people who want to input their opinion into your life and make it stick. If what makes you happy and healthy does not include their statements, let it roll of your shoulders
What does Level Up mean to you?
Leveling up to me, means to never settle. Understand your worth and how you can continue to keep learning how to be the best ‘you’. Leveling up can be seen across all aspects of your life (mentally, physically, emotionally), you get to decide how it looks, where you go, and how you want to be seen.
